ESS base cubes Vs RDMBS

I am getting confused here when we say cubes and RDMS in Cloud.

Content (required):

I had a debate with one of my peers where he said that there is only cubes and not any relational database(RDBMS) in Oracle Cloud. I said the transactional data such as AP, AR, payments, PO, SO etc gets stored in RDBMS and then the GL balances get loaded into the cubes. So I think in Oracle Cloud, we have both RDBMS and cubes. I just needed some expert opinion this.
