Understanding Cost Adjustment events

I need to know about cost adjustments. In my daily work, I observe that the system supports a wide range of cost adjustment kinds, including layer cost adjustments, manual receipt cost adjustments, propagate cost adjustments, and many others.

Exist any documents, white papers, or customer connect introductory sessions that can help me understand better?
