Summary:

How to handle the difference between Notional weight & the actual weight for Heavy Metal Procurement (Steel Purchasing for example).

Our client has a requirement where they have to Procure Steel Sheets/Plates in different Shapes & Sizes for their day-to-day Discrete Manufacturing processes.

Client Procures Steel Sheets/Plates from different Steel Vendors where all those Steel Sheets/Plates gets procured in Metric Tons (weight). Meaning the Receiving, Invoicing & Payment is dependent on the Weight of the Steel Bought in Metric Tons.

When Suppliers sends those Steel Sheets/Plates; actual weight of those Steel Sheets/Plates differs from the Notional weight (arithmetic weight).
