Period starting from Jul through Jun spanning over two years

We are implementing an environment that has a fiscal year that starts in Jul and ends in Jun. Is the implementation done correctly for this situation in this system? Our rolling forecarts are not enabling the correct periods. When we have forms and reports, we have to keep using substitution variables to define the range of months in both the years and pull them separately. Can you please let us know what should have been the right way? We are having issues in workforce and all the modules where when planning FY23, it should span from July of FY23 through
