Pricing Engine parts import from SAP

Summary:

Is it a good idea to implement Pricing Engine to store prices coming from SAP based on date range.

Content (required):

We have current implementation where we have live table in which we get list price from SAP along with Valid From and Valid To. Is it good idea to move this in Pricing Engine. Idea is whenever we are adding part to Line Items, pricing should get updated from Pricing Engine than calling data. table. Also when adding part to Price Models I cannot find any field in which I can add start date and end date for effective prices.
