How to populate Reconcile Reference column at GL Journal Lines in bulk post the journals are created

Summary:

Client has requirement to populate the Reconcile Reference column in the GL Journal lines based on the custom business rule written in the PaaS extension. It's very complex requirement where We need to populate the Reconcile Reference in the bulk on the existing GL Journal Lines created from External source system (third party system) so that standard GL Auto reconciliation process can be used.

We checked at our end and could not find any service available to update the this column. We found one Idea 612132 also logged already.

Looking forward from this group to get input if anybody has used any SOAP service/REST API to update/populate the reconcile reference column ?
