Flex field numeric no decimals

Summary:

Setting up Product Data Hub Flex fields, here goes the requirement

Numeric field with 8 Positions, Zero leaded. So if I have to enter 199, it has to be 00000199. Require runtime validation and not decimal separator.

Content (required):

If field is setup as numeric, works. BUT, it has thousand separator. Changing Regional Preferences for currenty is not an option.

If field is setup as character with only numbers on the value set we dont have decimals, but we lose the validation unless we need to create all combinations in the values set. (100 Millions)

If setup as Characters with value set Character and subtype text with a range and leading zeros flag activated, the system wil perfom the validation indicating the user that it is required to fill 8 positions with leading zeros, but if you enter by mistake on the field any character, then the validation is lost. So not an option
