Planning for Child Organizations

Summary:

The business has a single Item Master and several inventory organizations.

To be able to do planning at organizational level, all the inventory orgs have to be converted to definition organizations.

Doesn't this change mean now we have several item masters rather than 1?

How can planning attributes be enabled without effectively creating multiple item masters for the business?
