Can a new dimension be added that can be used in smart view and financial reporting studio?

Summary:

We are on Oracle Fusion Cloud 23C. There is a requirement to add a new dimension to classify an account as GAAP or non-GAAP that can be used in SmartView or Financial Reporting Studio. Researched from the Oracle support knowledge base and customerconnect community but could not find a discussion about this topic. Is there a functionality that is available or a possible workaround?
