Max character length (150) for an URL in an extensible flexfield is not sufficient

Summary:

Is it possible to extent the max character length of extensible flexfields for URL's? Since URL's are mainly very long, 150 will of course not be sufficient.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

I created an extensible flexfield 'job description' on the job page that refers to an internal website with job descriptions. The URL is clickable, however since there is a max character length on EFF of 150 this is not sufficient for the URL's. Most URL's are longer and they got cropped up to 150 so the link is not referring to the correct website.
