PeriodsUntilActive - Impact on Demand Plan and forecast

Summary:

We have a lot of limited edition items that will be discontinued in a short period of time and hence having the PeriodsUntilActive parameter as 14 days is inducing the system to generate forecast. Would updating the parameter to 180 days ensure that the system doesnt generate forecast for those limited edition items once it is discontinued?

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Currently we have set PeriodsUntilActive as 14 days and PeriodsUntilInactive as 182 days. This means that the system will generate Stat forecast or consider the item active if it has a shipments atleast 14 days prior to the day of forecast generation, and will consider the item inactive if the item did not have any shipments for past 6 months.
