What are the benefits of using position hierarchy in HCM Cloud?

Summary:

We have a few clients that are wanting to move towards position management within Oracle HCM Cloud. As part of using positions in Cloud you can turn on position hierarchy to create a child to parent relationship of positions. What are the true benefits of using the position hierarchy in Cloud outside of just being able to automatically assign supervisors as part of position changes.
