Katakana Character validation of Price List name

We have a requirement to validate full width japenease katakana characters name against half width english characters. for example - is it possible to validate if the price list name ＡＢＣ (Full width japenease character) exists if the user has created the same price list with the name ABC (half width katakana japenese character) ? or vice versa? basically the requiement of our japenease client is to make sure that the full width and half width katakana characters should be able to validate against each other. Even if we search with full with character then system should validate even with full width as well as half width characters in order to display a message wether that pricelist name exist or not?
