Alerts - for a renewal based course, need to filter out if course has not been completed before

Summary: We have an alert that reminds an employee that a mandatory (required) course is coming up for renewal. This works as expected, however we would like to filter out new starters as we manage their onboarding, including their mandatory learning, via a journey.


Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Our mandatory learning course "Information Governance (Data Protection Essentials)" is set on a 2 year renewal cycle and is created as a "required" assignment. We have built an alert to remind the user that their renewal date is approaching;


This is working as expected (but always open to feedback!). However we have a requirement that new starters are not in scope of this particular alert. We assign the course as required for new starters (pending workers) via an initiative, and handle onboarding, including linking to this course via a journey. So we wish to stop this alert triggering for new starters so they are not bombarded via both the journey tasks and the custom alert.
