Question about Trend Decomposition Group Settings in Demand Management

We have the Trend Decomposition Group enabled. In the Trend group, there are three sub-groups: Trend, TrendShort, TrendLong. Then there are also checkboxes for Short, Long and Not Seasonal, Fill Missing for each, and a Multiplicative select drop down. How are these used, what do these control? Our objective is to give more weight to the recent 12 months than to the months prior. So with 3 years of history, we want the last 12 month weighed 50%, the year before 30%, and the year before that 20%. Can the Trend decomposition group, along with the additional settings be used
