OSMH - What System Data Is Stored In the Cloud?

edited Nov 21, 2023 1:52AM in Linux

OS Management Hub (OSMH) automatically stores system-related information for both Management Stations, and Oracle Linux instances that are being managed by OSMH in the Cloud. This information is needed for OSMH to work correctly. The following system-related information is a list of what is stored by OSMH:

Managed Instances

  • Hostname
  • OS vendor, version, and architecture
  • Inventory of installed packages
    • Software sources (repos) assigned to the instanceThis is a reflection of the registration profile or changes made after registration by an administrator
    • Note: 3rd party (private) repositories are not tracked or stored by OSMH
  • Module stream status and install profiles (OL8, OL9)
