Is it possible for REQ requester to create supplier communication on the PO?

Summary:

The requisition requester creates a PR and then turned to be a PO. Our requester doesn't have buyer role which means they can't edit the PO, but they do need to edit the PO.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Our client expects the requester is able to setup the supplier mail communication. In order to do that, requester needs to edit the PO and select email as the communication method, but it doesn't work because the requester is not buyer.

Is there any ways that the requester could set the communication without buyer role?
