How do you make good use of the Short Description field on a course?

Summary:

I am looking for good ideas about using the short description field on courses. I thought the short description was part of the search for a course, but Oracle does not seem to actually find courses based upon terms in the short description. Or maybe it does in some odd way that I'm not understanding. Please let me know what works well for you in that short description. It seems like it could be a valuable field if used correctly.
