Payroll Close Date - Is there a way to turn off the automation

Summary:

When an employee record is terminated in Oracle HCM the system automatically applies a date in the payroll close date, we have issues where this then locks the record for Payroll team to be able to process final pay and therefore we are then required to remove the payroll close date to allow for Payroll to complete their process

Is there a way to turn this off and have the system not apply a date in the payroll close date field? If so how do we do this?

Does anyone have this issue and if so, has anyone implemented a workaround that does not require manual intervention?

Howdy, Stranger!
