TASK List: when opening a task from a list, the list reverts back to initial display

When users open a Task from the Task list * not Task Manager* but the old version (and for instance, they want to open a new one, when they go back to the list it has reverted to the initial display and they have to go and look for the correct section again. This is quite time-consuming.

Is there a way for the TASK LIST to stick to the opened display until users have closed the search?
