Why we cannot adjust unit for lease asset

Our lease asset charges to 3 cost centers,

unit depreciation expense account

0.9538 HK178

0.0257 HK104

0.0205 HK106

We need to update the unit periodically but system not allow us to adjust unit with following error :

You can't perform this transaction on a leased asset.

I found some Oracle documentation suggesting to delete lease and recreate the lease asset, may I know the reason not allow adjust unit for lease asset? What is the normal practice to handle distribution of lease expenses?
