Data Load rule vs Quick Mode Data Rule

Data Load rule vs Quick Mode Data Rule not behaving same in REST API executions

We are using Quick Mode rule to extract data from EPM to a file. In data exchange manual execution it prompts only single period during execution, if we had to execute this from REST the same data load rule prompts Start Period and End Period and if we provide different period (example: to extract Jan and Feb as start and end period) in this the rule considers only start period and ignores end period and generates the data only for start period, this is really concerning. Why not to have the parameter options separate in REST according to Quick Mode
