How to increase LOV limit for delivered field

Summary:

Hi All,

Our client wanted to add a LOV in degree profile section and has more than 1500 LOVs.

We used one of the existing fields and replaced the newly created LOV for it.

However when we a user is trying to add an education and trying to check/search the LOV - only first 500 records are displayed. The remaining values are not even coming when we type in. Its not a DFF and we are also getting "Too Many Records Found. Specify Additional Criteria To Limit the number of records" warning as well.

How to deal with it, is there no way to increase LOV limit?
