Does system allow to load same person number for 2 different records with different biographical?

Summary:

We want to load the worker data from legacy system into the HCM cloud however we found that the person number already exist in the system with different biographical and assignment information. We would like to retain the same person numbers from legacy system. Is this a feasible scenario.
