how to transfer data directly from peoplesoft

Summary:

We have a customer which has been feeding metadata and data from peoplesoft into their EPM system via EPM Agent/JDBC connections

They need to establish a direct connection from their EPM cloud into PeopleSoft and extract directly from there, without using the Agent, does anyone know how/if that can be achieved? We resecrhed Groovy/JDBC or REST API options but already discarded them
