Having issues with adding hyperlink with icon to the navigation list

Summary:

Styling of icons behaves differently with the parent and child in the navigation list. I am trying to add space between 2 icons and which works as expected in the parent list but the same styling doesn't work for the nested children.

I have a nested(tree like) navigation list and 2 hyperlinks with icons for editing and deleting date as shown in the below picture.

For the edit and delete icons, Spacing works only for the parent list data (Getting Started)

The icons styling for the children is not what I expect (children/leaf node being: Home/Download/Quick Start )
