Can we switch Historical Rate Override to Amount Override in an active application?

We have defined several historical accounts' exchange rate type as Historical Rate Override.

Now, if we want to switch it from Rate to Amount Override from current period? Is it possible?

and if we do the same, will it impact any of my previous years' data?
