Grade removed from grade ladder, but step rate is still seen active in MANAGE GRADE LADDER

Even though grade has been removed from grade ladder from a particular effective date, step rate is still seen active in manage grade ladders page and is causing issue in co-existance, please suggest how to end date step rate in grade ladder for a particular grade.
