Connector for Salesforce Upgrade

We are looking into installing the new CPQ Connector for Salesforce 8.x, as we are currently still in Managed Package 7.

I found the documentation and sample integration files, as well as the list of functionalities that re no longer supported in V8.

However, it is stated that moving to 8.x is not really an upgrade, but a new installation.

Based on everyone's experience, can you please comment on the following?

Would we be losing any existing functionality? The matrix is rather difficult to decode.

Also, and maybe even more importantly, would we need to make any changes to our current integrations, or will everything still work with the connector?
