Can the safety stock be calculated for Model Item ?

Summary:

We have business scenario where we want to generate safety stock for ATO model and then based on the generated safty stock values for Model item supply plan should derive the planned orders for options considering the planning percentage.

But when we run the supply plan safety stock is not calculated for the ATO model.

Is there any system limitation or missing setup for this?
