Need to maintain two different costs for the same item

in Costing 4 comments

Summary:

Hi all,

at the moment we have one cost organization, around 200 inventory organizations, each of which is formed by 6 subinventories. Our valuation structure is determined at cost organization level, so every item is represented by a unique cost with cost method = perpetual average across all the inventory organizations.

The customer needs to maintain two different costs for the same item, based on the subinventory where it resides. Is it possible to comply with this request without creating an additional cost organization? If it is, which is the better option to do it?
