Do course prerequisites take into the expiry date of the licence/certification?

Summary:

We want to set up a prerequisite on a course based on the learner having a particular certification on their talent profile. This certification has an expiry date.

When I tested this out, if the learner had no certification on their talent profile, the system correctly identified they did not meet the pre-requisite for the course. But if the certification was on the talent profile, but had expired, they were regarded as having met the pre-requisite and could enrol.

I just wondered if this is expected behaviour? So does the system just look for the certification title in the talent profile, or should it also take into account the expiry date?

Howdy, Stranger!
