Approval was reassigned by Web Services Application Identity for HCM

Summary:

We recently had an employee terminate that had a pending approval assigned to them. The next day at about 10 AM PST, that pending approval was reassigned automatically and it showed 'Web Services Application Identity for HCM reassigned to <terminated employee's line manager.' I have never seen this before. In the past we have always manually reassigned these pending approvals. Did something change? Does anyone know what is actually prompting this to happen? Is there some scheduled job that looks for pending approvals assigned to terminated employees?
