I am using javascript promise but its not working correctly in VBCS

Hi everyone

i am calling function from oj-bind-text to call rest api in table template like this, but this function is not waiting for response instead it directly returning "pending" promise in vbcs table as shown in screenshot, so is there anything i am missing here to handle promises in vbcs?
