Status Type set up in OTM

Hi,

We are starting a new implementation and for Status Type customer is worried that what will happen if a Status Type (For ex "Shipment_Costed") is defined During Implementation and In coming Release same status is defined by OTM Prod Development Team.

Any recommendation will be good help.
