Notification activity (no) fault handling?

Summary:

Hi all,

Any help with the following would be appreciated.

I need to send mails with notification activity in a very controlled way because it is used as interface.

I have noticed when there is error in the activity the process goes on and seems not to raise faults.

I have done 2 things:

1) include a scope in notification activity to control faults, but fault is never raised.

2) I assign a variable after notification activity, and when error the process goes on.

Can someone provide some light on this? Am I doing something wrong?

Is there any way to control this error? any workaround.
