Embedding EPM Planning externally for a unified user experience

Summary:

We have a use case where part of the functionality requirements starts in an external application but then needs to come into EPM for some financial modeling and then output back to the external application. To limit the perception of swivel chair and give a more unified user experience we would like to see if we could embed EPM frames within an external application. Has anyone had any experience with this, is this even possible?
