Supplier cannot register because he is already a customer

Hi,

Currently we have the external supplier registration flow active and it includes the qualification questionnaire, the supplier registers and at the same time answers the questions to qualify it. When a supplier is already a customer in the ERP, if it tries to register, it does not allow it because a party with the same Taxpayer ID already exists in the system.

Following best practices, what are the steps to follow in these cases? How can we prevent this error from happening without inactivating Taxpayer ID validation?
