Can't extend free text attribute from 150 characters to 300 characters

See the attached Error we got when we tried to enable more than 150 characters per 1 text attribute.

need to understand what is missing with the configuration of the change processed Heder attributes to enable us to use 300 characters instead of the current 150 characters for the problem statement attribute - please advise the steps to overcome this error.
