Project end date and impact with Misc Project Entry
Have organizations noticed when a miscellaneous project entry is completed that no error message appears if the project end date is beyond that listed in the entry?
We have team members who complete miscellaneous project entries and at the time they are not aware of a project end date that is prior to their expenditure item date and/or accounting period. The system does not indicate any errors exist in the entry which leads to expected transactions not appearing in project cost.
We've resorted to running a list of the project numbers prior to month end close to see what projects may have this situation arise but that is a burden to the team. We have industry sponsored projects that don't technically have an end date but due to reporting needs we must list an end date. I'm wondering if others have experienced this and/or what processes or workarounds have been put in place to ensure transactions post correctly. Thanks.
