Pipeline job "fails" after 30 minutes

Summary:

I'm building and testing a pipeline job thats loads data and consolidates the period to replace some epmautomate scripts

However the stage issues a failed e-mail if it runs for more than 30 minutes irrespective of the actual failed/running state of the tasks in the stage

The consolidation meanwhile continues to run quite happily - I've tried runnig it manually and via scheduling - does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a setting I need to change? The tasks are sequential and not parallel.
