Why is username being replaced with "rest://userName=...?USER"?

Summary:

Username in top right corner of web-interface replaces actual user name with a REST call for the username.

In the top right corner my username is sporadically replaced with "rest://userName=...?USER". The user is an admin user. See picture below as an example:

Other users has also experienced it at random. Usually it only lasts a day or so, then it reappears after a few days/week.

Has anyone experienced it, and know how to avoid it?
