Absence entries for inactive assignment is not visible when viewed as of system date

Summary:

1. We have loaded absences for sample Employee. Of the three absences loaded, two are for inactive work relationships. 

2. For the active work relationship, the absence can be viewed w/o problems under Absence Records by searching for the person.

 3. However, when doing an advanced search including Inactive in the filter and then selecting an inactive assignment with an absence, the absence does not display.

 

4. Still in the advanced search but this time enter an effective data when a now inactive assignment was active, the absence does display.

Question -

1. Is this expected behavior?

2. Or we can set something up for the absences to always display especially for inactive assignment?
