Is it mandatory to browse and choose customer from CPQ accounts for asset creation and tagging

Summary:

Dear Team,

We have quotes initiated from Salesforce where all customer information (Name, ID, Bill To, Ship To, etc.) is coming from SFDC and no customers are being stored in CPQ locally. Now we have to implement Subscription ordering where assets are tagged to each customer account.

Can we continue to have no customers stored in CPQ after enabling ABO or is it mandatory to browse and select a customer from local CPQ repository rather than getting customer information from Salesforce to tag assets correctly in workbench.
