Customize the Category field such that Top Category and Sub-Category are listed as parent-child node (i.e., Once user selects Top category, Child Category should populate instead of going through long list of Categories).

Once user selects Top category, the Child Category should populate. Hence, we have customized this requirement in VB Studio as shown in last screenshot 2 (Customized Category field). Refer screenshots showing the Actual Category field vs Customized Category field.

However, we noticed this field/ template does not hold any value after the user submits the SR.

When help desk request is created by selecting the customized Category field (Category Hierarchical Picker), the HRHD request gets submitted successfully. However, the Category field is showing blank after the SR is submitted. If any one of you could share your thoughts about achieving this requirement within a single field, would be great. Alternate way is to display the Category and Sub-Category as 2 different fields by adding a custom field to the layout; however, as it will increase the number of fields for employee who raise the SR, we didn’t opt that way.
