Project Baseline vs. Project Budget for Earned Value Calculations

Our users prefer the columnar period entry for planned amounts from the Manage Project Budget screen.

However, when we use the Manage Project budget and baseline, this does not seem to update the Project Task Baseline on the Manage Financial Project Plan, therefore not calculating progressing.

Am I missing soemthing to get the budget input from Manage Project Cost to also flow to the Project Task baseline for calculating metrics? Thank you.
