Employee using absence plan absence on a date before adjustment was made to the same plan balance

Summary:

If employee had 0 hours in Sick between 4/6- 4/10 and adjustment was made on 4/12/2024 for 40 hours. Then later is it possible for the employee to use those 40 hours during the 4/6-4/10 absence? I assume not unless there is a functionality to allow this. Please confirm.
