How to map timecards to exception codes?

Summary:

Has anyone been able to map timecards to specific exception codes? Right now all timecards that are in "Incomplete" or "In Error" status map to the Error exception code, but we have a requirement to differentiate timecards with multiple incomplete entries as another exception code to make it easier to identify timecards that have incomplete entries in previous days vs timecards that are incomplete because the employee did not punch out for the current day.

Any information helps, thank you!
