Name Format definitions into a report

edited Apr 30, 2024 7:42PM in Human Capital Management 1 comment

Summary:

Hi

Trying to extract from the Oracle the Name Format definitions into a report. Saw in document 2312477.1 the following explanation:

The Name Formats is stored in FORMAT_MASK column of HR_NAME_FORMATS table. It is in encoded format like |$FIR$$SPA$$COM$||$LAS$|. This is build on some specific internal logic. Customer can refer to "FORMAT_MASK" field, but it doesn't mean anything to them. If they want to decode, they need to replace the 3 letter characters between "$" with the equivalent lookup code value of PER_NAME_FORMAT_COMPONENTS(main name items like first name, last name etc), PER_NAME_SUB_FORMAT_COMPONENTS(for signs like comma, space etc).

Howdy, Stranger!
