Extensible Flex Field - Value Set for a "Text" field

Hi CCC Community,

I'm working with Extensible Flex Fields for the first time, and have made some good progress. However, I'm trying to create a "text" only field, and have hit a roadblock with assigning the Value Set. Can someone give me an example of how to set up a text EFF? I'm working with the "Person EIT Information" flex field.

Error: The value set BXP_Comment cannot be assigned to the segment Test. (FND-2641)
In application 800, descriptive flexfield PER_PERSON_EIT_EFF, and context Flex Schedule, value set BXP_Comment cannot be assigned to segment Test which uses column PEI_INFORMATION4. The assigned value set must have a data type that is compatible with the column data type and its maximum length must be no longer than the column length and its validation type must not be view object.
